Lunar Standstill

Chimney Rock Photo Contest

In celebration of the 2006 Lunar Standstill: A Chimney Rock Photography Contest

Open to all, from snapshots to fine art,close-ups to panoramas including photos of the Chimney Rock Tour experience.

Pagosa.com is proud to offer a “Lunar Standstill Photography Contest” during the summer of 2006. This spectacular event occurs only once every 19 years. It will occur three times this summer and offers a rare photography opportunity and an opportunity to advance the cause of the Chimney Rock Interpretive Program.

The contest is being held by Pagosa.com to aid The Chimney Rock Interpretive Program by obtaining photographs for future educational and promotional use by the Interpretive Program.

The contest has two categories: A) For the lunar standstill events and B) For more general photographs related to the Chimney Rock Archaeological Area and tour experience.

The photography contest is being announced here on Pagosa.com and through KWUF Radio announcements. A display of completed photographs will be located on Main Street and other locations during the summer.

We have a guaranteed $300.00 first place value for each category (A and B) and hope to obtain additional prizes from local businesses. There may be second and third place prizes.
